Exploring the Concerns About the Redevelopment of Devon House

Function versus form- the discussion surrounding the recently revealed redevelopment of the Devon House courtyard has sparked debate about the removal of much of the greenery in preference of paved surfaces. Some argue that it will provide greater access for the differently abled while others rue the loss of a rare green space in the heart of the capital. Do these design choices represent the future for the redevelopment of Jamaican heritage sites and cultural attractions? Executive Director of the Tourism Enhancement Fund Dr Carey Wallace shares with us some of the reasoning behind the design decisions.
