Jamaica to Establish First Gastronomy Academy at Montego Bay Convention Centre

During the opening of the 2024/25 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives, Minister of Tourism Hon. Edmund Bartlett announced plans for Jamaica’s inaugural gastronomy academy to be located at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St. James. Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism will collaborate with the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport to develop a tourism entertainment academy.

The Theme of the Minister’s presentation was ‘Tourism gives even more in 2024’ which focused on satisfying visitors, economic growth, and training youths, including supporting small businesses.

The aim is geared towards fostering skills that will enhance the Tourism sector

The Tourism Minister also highlighted that he has represented for 35 years in the House of Parliament, and recognizes other colleagues who have also contributed over the years.
