Mother And Son Shot and Killed In Great River, St. James

Residents of Great River, St. James are left traumatized following Tuesday’s murder of a businesswoman and the wounding of her son who subsequently died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The tragic incident comes months after another devastating murder of a woman in the same community. Fifty-two-year-old Rose Christian and her son, Kennique Christian were shot and killed at her establishment in great river, St. James on Tuesday.

Rose reportedly died on the spot while her son succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police reports are that about 2:00 p.m., rose and her son was at the restaurant when a motor car with men drove up; alleged eyewitnesses say the men appeared comfortable as they interacted in the space before pouncing upon their intended targets. They say around six to seven shots were heard, the men then ran into a silver Toyota Axio and left the scene.

The residents say the area is prone to violence as there are no streetlights erected. More details here:
