During a press conference hosted during the recent PNP NEC meeting in St. Ann, Leader of the Opposition and former investment banker Mark Golding, suggested that the Jamaica Labour Party, had at some point in time held funds at the embattled Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) investment firm, currently under investigation for fraudulent activities. However, the Jamaica Labour Party on Tuesday refuted those claims with a release that states categorically that it ” has never and does not currently hold any accounts at Stocks and Securities Limited”
The statement continues that the “JLP expresses complete confidence that the government will use all of its legal powers to resolve the issues of alleged fraud at stocks and securities limited”
With the admission that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be involved in the now transnational investigation, Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang urged those who may have information on the alleged fraud, to “cooperate fully with the authorities both locally and overseas.”
