At approximately 3:48 on Sunday morning fire gutted sections of the embattled business district, destroying scores of stalls and goods belonging to vendors. One vendor told CVM Live she has lost all her goods, and she is struggling to come to terms with the future strain of having to start over during the Christmas season.
Another woman says the fire has left her hopeless as she has worked diligently over time to invest in her business. Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of the Kingston and St Andrew Division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Patrick Gooden confirmed that this is the third fire Coronation Market has suffered this year. The origins of the fire have yet to be determined.
