Anand Biradar, Senior Vice President and Country Head of Hinduja Global Solutions Jamaica (HGS) says many protocols were put in place to avoid such an incident. Approximately ninety-four (94) people were tested positive for the Coronavirus out of a staff of seven hundred and fifty (750) persons.
He says after one case was confirmed, all staff from every HGS location were tested, however, the Constant Spring Branch which is the largest of the four had cluster.
Anand says losing a manager to the coronavirus should be a wake-up call to the employees to take the vaccine as he believes this is the only measure that will ensure the workplace remains safe. Dr Yohann White Immunologist and Medical Director at Para Caribe says in order for the virus to not spread significantly throughout workplaces, employers have the moral obligation to allow workers to not be penalised for staying home when seeing symptoms.
It is understood a Manager at the facility has since died from the virus.
