Champions Cup Final: Kingston College to prove the masses wrong as they face the undefeated Clarendon College

An action-packed 2019 Schoolboy Football season is trickling down to a close as the finals for the respective competitions are just a stone’s throw away.

One such final which is on the lips of many football fans is that of the herculean battle for the Champions Cup title between the North Street Giants, Kingston College, and the Rural Strongholds, Clarendon College set for November 23 at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Fans of the Clarendon based standouts are oozing with confidence as they enter this showdown as the favorites, having not lost one match since the start of the Schoolboy Football season. The Lenworth Hyde coached unit has displayed colorful football, breezing past STATHS and last year’s champions Cornwall College in the quarter and semifinals respectively.

Kinston College (KC), who earned their place after an awesome come-back victory in a nerve-racking penalty shootout with Jamaica College in the semifinals, will have to deliver a mighty performance to counteract a confident Clarendon College whose balmy football style has captured the attention of many fans and analysts. KC will also have to face the challenge of trying to come back from a revengeful defeat to Jamaica College, who came out victorious against the north street standouts in the manning cup semifinals just two days ago.

The defending manning cup title-holders will have to depend on the strength of their backline and hope that they can frustrate their opponents using the creative minds of each and every KC stakeholder including the ‘12th man’. The purple and whites will definitely come with a fight as coach Ludlow Bernard has made tremendous strides in maintaining an excellent football program at the institution, keeping KC in the limelight of Schoolboy Football.

Should Clarendon College win the silverware, they will be the second rural area institution to win the title as the competition has been dominated by corporate area champions.
