Reggae, The Grammys and The Way Forward

The debate around the future of Reggae, specific to its viability through its present practitioners here in Jamaica, has gathered momentum particularly since the recent Grammy Awards for best reggae album went to a none -Jamaican.

Is there justification in some of the disenchantment being expressed in the local music industry? This evening we assess the way forward and look at the state of the genre.

With us is Entertainment Journalist, Milton Wray. He is also a recording artiste who goes by the name “one 1 can’ and, legendary Frankie Campbell, one of the founding members of the group fab 5, he is currently the bands manager and also president of Jamaica Association of Vintage Artistes and Affiliates.
