Panel Discussion

Potential Harmful Effects of Prescription Drugs

There are potentially harmful effects of prescription drugs that are noteworthy. Pharmaceuticals have taken centre stage in global attention since the development of a vaccine against COVID-19. However, the majority of the Jamaican population has so far opted out of accepting the recommendations of healthcare experts to take the vaccine. Though anti-vax opinions have been censored online, broader questions remain relating to medication and the potentially harmful effects of prescription drugs.

Discussing the topic are Dr. Winsome Christie, Clinical Pharmacist & Integrative Health and Medicine Specialist and President of The Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica and Dr. Stephanie Goldson.
