Preliminary reports state that 16 year old Jonathan Eccleston was fishing along with a group of boys when he fell into a river on Thursday. A search was carried out for his body but called off late that evening. Hours later on Friday morning, his lifeless body was recovered.

The search was conducted by members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Coast Guard, the Marine Police and the Falmouth Fire Station.
