PSOJ Disappointed By Decision To Not Extend SOE

Having issued a joint call for the extension of the States of Public Emergency, which was voted down in the Senate just hours ago, a group of business organizations, led by the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, who had advocated for its extension, has reacted to the outcome of the vote.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the business organizations encouraged a unified approach to crime fighting, one that is without politicization

Following the vote in the Senate we invited comment from the Chairman of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica’s Standing Committee on National Security and Justice, Lieutenant Commander George Overton.
