West Kingston Residents Voice Concerns, ZOSO Security

A West Kingston residents say they are being taken into unchartered territories by some members of the Jamaica Defence Force, (JDF). A Midtown resident who spoke on condition of anonymity, alleges that on Thursday, August 26, members of the JDF allegedly took him into their vehicle and interrogated him while driving. He says at the end of the interrogation he was instructed to leave and was released in a section of Denham Town.

The West Kingston residents allege rivals based within Denham Town were in the area and began a scuffle with the Tivoli Gardens man. The Tivoli Garden’s people say taking them from their community to a rival community, is doing more harm than good. A move they suspect is intentional, as some allege they have been taken into the enemy’s camp and ordered to walk home.

The conversation between the residents was interrupted after shots rang out sending residents scampering, as the security forces on location attempted to engage the gangsters. Eyewitnesses say the bike on the ground belongs to gunmen who were injured while attempting a shootout. Spanish Town Road was soon cordoned, residents. The community stood in silence, the security force personnel out in their numbers amidst the growing tension.
