Thugs Plague West Kingston Community

Bottle bombs, bullet holes in several concrete walls, and a parked vehicle account for the trauma the residents experience. This comes after thugs opened fire on mourners during a funeral service on Sunday for Chad Coultman who was shot and killed on October 19 last year.

A mother laments it is significant for the relevant authorities to intervene to bring peace in the communities. She says on Sunday her son was interrogated by the police. Another woman says the State of Public Emergency (SOPE) imposed in the community has been ineffective.

It is alleged that with the current SOPE  they constantly face threats and physical abuse from members of the security forces. When asked what has sparked the ongoing violence, one woman tells Cvm Live men from Tivoli Gardens are trying to gain control of the Denham Town community. The horrifying ordeal has left many traumatized and businesses impacted.
