Testing In Sandy Bay Clarendon Continues

The Sandy Bay community in Clarendon is one of two zones now under quarantine as the country sees an increase in COVID-19 cases. When our news team visited the community, residents were waiting in line as Health Workers conduct tests. One resident says despite the inconvenience of the community lockdown, residents should play their part in suppressing any further spread of the virus in the community.

Meanwhile, Medical Officer of Health at the Clarendon Health Division, Dr. Kimberley Scarlett, says so far citizens have been cooperating with health officials. She however continues to emphasize the importance of following the health ministry’s guidelines to restrict the spread of the virus.

A church in the community is responsible for the up-tick in COVID-19 cases … Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, says health officials are still carrying out contact tracing.

Member of Parliament for Southeast Clarendon Pearnel Charles Jr. Is urging residents to comply with the quarantine restrictions. PNP caretaker for Southeast Clarendon Patricia Duncan-Sutherland says she will be working with the various Ministries to ensure that the needs of the residents are met.
