Residents at the St James Infirmary received a long-anticipated male ward. Over 45 million dollars was invested in the construction of the new facility, which the Local Government Minister says the government saw as a priority for the poor and vulnerable of Jamaica. Forty residents at the St James Infirmary were recently gifted with a brand-new male ward. Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says over 45 million dollars was invested to construct the facility to provide a more suitable environment for the vulnerable.
He also noted additional funds were invested to provide resources for the residents. McKenzie says it is significant for the government to improve the conditions of the vulnerable and consider them as a priority. Watch the report:
