The construction of a new male ward at the St. James Infirmary in Albion is now complete. The ward will house 45 male residents.

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie said the ward is one of the first project by the Government after being elected in 2016 and is third in a series of projects by the Ministry which have been completed.

Minister McKenzie says, the ward cost an estimate of 45 million dollars and will hopefully be officially opened in September of this year .

He also credits the continued growth of the facility to the staff and the St. James Municipal Corporation with their help in maintaining a high standard.

Former Mayor and State Minister in the Local Government Ministry, Homer Davis says the new ward represents the Government’s agenda to provide relief for the less fortunate.
