Renewed Calls in The West for Resignation of Tufton

On Wednesday several members of the People’s National Party (PNP) staged a protest outside the Cornwall Regional Hospital, demanding the removal of Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton.

They say the Health Minister mishandled the portfolio, including the death of 14 babies over a four-month period at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital. It is said the babies died during an outbreak of resistant bacteria. PNP Councillor Sylvan Reid says the government needs to address the deaths of newborns. One disgruntled woman says the government has been careless with the infected babies. Dr Tufton recently claims the shortage of healthcare workers could have contributed to the death of infants.
