Recent Murders Leave Tense Calm In Rose Town Community

A recent upsurge in violence in the Rose Town community of West Kingston has left a tense calm in the vicinity.

Police assigned to the Kingston West Police Division have intensified their patrols and are on the alert for any possible retaliation that may cause further disruption.

Our team spoke with the President of the Rose Town Benevolent Society, Errol Jackson who explains that residents have unfortunately become immune to criminal elements within the community.

Only two weeks ago a block-making facility was launched in the community as a corrective measure, providing  a platform for dozens of youth to be trained and certified in block making.

Jackson says the recent flair up of violence may slow operations down but he is confident in the police’s efforts to bring order and enhance safety.

The police have named Preston Evan, otherwise called ‘ Zazu’ and Dennis Mundel, otherwise called ‘Ginsing’ as wanted.

They are being urged to turn themselves in to the Denham Town Criminal Investigations Branch.

Meanwhile, Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force‘s Corporate Communication Unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay says the police will remain in the community, employing a combination of tactics to apprehend the culprits.
