Acting Chief Public Health Inspector for St. James, Sherica Lewis says at least one hundred pounds of meat have been confiscated since December 14.
This as meat shops in the parish have been targeted by the Health Department. Lewis says meat and meat products were assessed to ensure they are fit for consumption.
However, one meat shop was found to be in breach of the health guidelines.
This meat vendor operating in the Charles Gordon Market says the meat inspection is good for business.
