“It’s all just allegations” That is according to the Principal of the Steer Town Academy Sharn Mongal in reaction to the Overseas Examinations Council’s probe into the school’s May to June 2022 CSEC exams, following their impressive passes. But Mongal proudly stands by the institution’s pristine standards.
Acknowledging the school’s high passes, he says when compared to 2019, their usually high pass rate dipped. But this is not being credited to luck, as Principal Mongal says it reflects the school’s investment into additional teaching and other preparations prior to the exams. Despite the astonishing support from parents, he maintains his priority is the student’s education. Principal Mongal says he is looking forward to the reopening of school come Monday, January 9.
