COVID-19, Crime & Corruption – The dust has settled on the 2020 General Election, but there is a level of radical uncertainty as to the country braces for the worst amid a global pandemic. The Jamaica Labor Party (JLP) is tasked with cautiously moving forward, rebooting, and reawakening the battered economy while balancing lives and livelihoods.

Jamaica has since entered the phase of community transmission of the Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic; this is the inability to relate confirmed cases through chains of transmission for a large number of cases.

in other words, the transmission of the virus can no longer be easily traced from one member of the population to the other. Crime continues to be a dominant force, undermining growth, and threatening human welfare.

The Andrew Holness led administration is being encouraged to build on the national consensus on crime – a bi-partisan commitment made in august of this year.
