Police Officers to Be Equipped With Body Cameras

Commissioner of police, Major General Antony Anderson says the procurement process has started for the purchase of thousands of cameras and other gadgets for the Jamaica Constabulary Force. The cameras are expected to provide both audio and video.

There is a drive to modernize the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), one way is with the use of body cameras, which is being introduced in law enforcement to improve the overall capabilities of police officers.

While the details of the roll-out of the devices are not clear, we spoke to a few current and former members of the JCF as well as members of the public who describe the body cameras as a good look for the force.
