There remains unease in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, despite the pause in violence recently. Police investigations however have been making strides, following the killing of at least 4 people in separate incidents, including a triple murder.
The police say the men involved are no strangers to each other, and it can now be confirmed that the killing was a reprisal for the killing of 57-year-old Dave Nooks also called “Baiter”, a resident of the Brooks Level community. Nooks was killed two days before the triple murder in the early afternoon while sitting in a Stony Hill bar.
Superintendent Aaron Fletcher, Head of the St. Andrew North Division says so far, investigations have shown that it is a conflict between rival gangs in the vicinity. He notes that both gangs are the Brooks Level and the Airy Castle Road gangs.
Police say the community remains tense after the killings, and though residents are aware of who these criminal are, they are not forthcoming with information. Regardless of this, the police say they have key leads as to who the perpetrators are but encourage citizens to not be afraid to tell what they know.
