Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Everald Warmington, says road repairs are needed in Northern Trelawny, as the road infrastructure has been neglected for over 30 years. 300-million dollars has been allocated to improve roads in the constituency.
In the coming weeks, some poor road infrastructure in Northern Trelawny is expected to get the necessary repairs needed. During a tour of the constituency Minister Warmington says the 300-hundred million dollars will be allocated to improve road conditions in the constituency. He however noted that the allocation will not be enough to fix the road issue after observations were done.
A total of 218-million dollars have been allocated to repair the Wakefield to Deeside Roadway. In January of last year, taxi operators and commuters protested the poor condition of the thoroughfare from Falmouth to Wakefield.
Somme commuters voiced their frustration saying for over 10 years they have been fed promises by both political partiues and they still have not seen any improvements of the roads in the area. They noted that the constant patch work does not help, as when it rains the roads are once again in poor condition. Member of Parliament Tova Hamilton welcomes the well-needed repair.
