Opposition Insists More Can Be Done

Members of the Opposition are adamant that more can be done to better the lives of Jamaicans. Speaking at a Divisional Conference in Portland, the members lashed out against the Andrew Holness-led administration, as they called for change, regarding crime and environmental concerns.

Opposition Spokesperson on Transport and Works, Mikael Phillips, says the looming tragedies from this hurricane season, require more financial support and proper planning from the government.

Meanwhile, Opposition Spokesman on Energy, Phillip Paulwell, shared his displeasure at the discontinuation of the tablet in schools’ programme adding that this affected the quality of education children received when schools went online. He is also disappointed with the country’s crime rate, adding that states of emergency cannot be a solution to the problem.
