Opposition Spokesperson on Labour and Social Security Dr Angela Brown Burke is appealing to Labour Minister, Karl Samuda to address the pensioners’ woes to receive their monthly pensions from the government.
She notes pensioners are burdened by delayed payments, long lines, and uncertainty before being compensated after providing their service to nation-building.
Opposition Spokesperson on Labour and Social Security, Dr Angela Brown Burke, is renewing calls for the government to provide fair treatment for pensioners in Jamaica. She says the government needs to do more to address their welfare as they are currently facing several issues. While calling for better solutions to address the issue the PNP chairman says the government needs to remember that pensioners would have made their contribution to the country and should be treated with dignity.
