Sports Minister Olivia Grange has responded to recent criticism, asserting that the Jamaican government provided maximum support to the Jamaica Tallawahs amid their replacement in the Caribbean Premier League by a team from Antigua and Barbuda. Grange acknowledged football and track and field as the primary recipients of funding, clarifying that cricket received substantial support. In addressing concerns about the scarcity of international cricket matches at Sabina Park, she affirmed ongoing collaboration with the Jamaica Cricket Association for the sport’s best interests. Minister Grange made these remarks at the India High Commission, where the Indian government presented cricket gear to the Jamaica Cricket Association.
