Nigel Clarke: “BOJ Governor Now In Charge of the FSC”

Effective January 23, 2023, Richard Byles Governor of the Bank of Jamaica will take the position of Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, (FSC). According to Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke, he is not firm in the belief of a complete turnover of boards as the previous regulations are none existent.

However, the Minister notes the current board commissioners will remain in their positions at the FSC. Dr. Clarke further outlined the responsibilities that the new board will undertake. Last Thursday the Finance Minister announced that the FSC’s Executive Director Everton Mcfarlane had resigned.
