Motorists Disgruntled by Services at Transport Authority

The frustration of customers boiled over at the Transport Authority’s Office in Kingston today, as the waiting process for collecting their road licenses saw many delays. Some of the customers complained to our news team that they made their payments over a month ago yet their receipts are deemed invalid when stopped by the police. Following the new road traffic act that came into effect on February 1 of this year, customers at the Maxfield Avenue office of the Transport Authority in Kingston were met with frustration and confusion.

They tell our news team that the waiting process has been tedious. Another concern expressed is that the receipt from payments made for a new road license is still invalid when pulled over by the police. Meantime, Corporate Communications Manager Merdina Callum explained that the delays were caused due to a transition to digital. Watch the report:
