Visually Impaired Mother Seeks Support for Life-Changing Eye Surgery – A young woman, who has encountered repeated employment rejections due to her low vision caused by cataracts in both eyes, has reached out to CVM News in hopes of securing assistance for eye surgery that could potentially transform her life and the lives of her children.
In an interview with our reporter, Kimberly Henry, she expressed her frustration at the constant job rejections and the burden of complete dependence. Kimberlyn Beckford, a 35-year-old mother of three, has faced the challenges of visual impairment for years, having been born with cataracts in both eyes. Her determination to secure a brighter future for her family has remained unwavering. However, despite her dedication, the limitations imposed by her condition have hindered her ability to work and provide for her children.
Beckford, who underwent surgery on one of her eyes approximately 33 years ago, revealed that the pressure has impacted her other eye. Inspired by a radio advertisement suggested by a friend, she sought the assessment of an international doctor in Kingston. Following the assessment, she was presented with a medical bill for the necessary procedure to address her eye condition. Watch the report:
