Forty persons have been added to the Justices of the Peace Corp in St Thomas following a commissioning service at the Yallahs Baptist Church in the parish. While congratulating the newly appointed JPs, Custos of St Thomas, Marcia Bennett reminded them to exercise integrity and decency in their work.
She admitted that a number of JPS are signing documents and affixing their stamps for financial gain to persons they cannot verify. The Custos reminded the young members of the importance of protecting their seals as they serve the country.
Speaking at the ceremony Justice Minister Delroy Chuck outlined that the provision of service in Jamaica is lacking at all levels. He highlighted the importance of humility when serving their communities. Watch the full report:
