Montague Receives Medal from Human Rights Group

Former Minister, Robert Montague has received a medal of honour for his years of service, which resulted in significant improvement of many Jamaicans’ quality of life. Montague’s work in his western St. Mary constituency, as well as in the ministries of security and transport are being lauded as monumental.

The medal comes months after his resignation from the cabinet. Member of Parliament Robert Montague was the recent recipient of a medal of honor from an international body. The organization of human rights defense acknowledged the former minister for creating opportunities and programs to enhance the quality of life for those in need.

The western St. Mary MP is being lauded for his unwavering advocacy for his constituents as well as his role in establishing the Amanda Alert System for locating missing children locally. In addition, the organization’s UK President, Lord Robert Thomas says during Montague’s time as security minister, there was a sizable increase in human trafficking cases brought before the courts. He says Montague fights for the rights of all resulting in the latest honour.

Montague says he’s beyond grateful to reap the rewards of his hard work. The politician pledged to continue working on behalf of the Jamaican people to further improve their quality of life. The integration body is now establishing itself in the Caribbean, starting with Jamaica. This move is intended to ensure the rights and freedom of the people are protected.
