MOCA Wants Access To NIDS For National Security

MOCA wants access to NIDS: The Major Organized Crime and Anti Corruption Agency (MOCA) has brought several recommendations to the draft National Identification Registration Act including the storage of citizens information who have canceled their enrollment in the National Identification System (NIDS) to prevent cases of fraud.

Additionally, MOCA wants to be in the same category as the Commissioner of Police, the only person authorized to request citizens’ information for national security purposes but was seemingly denied by the NIDS technical team.

MOCA is an independent arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
