Major disasters in Jamaica including floods and hurricanes have impacted the country’s economic growth and development. During the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Cooperation’s Meeting on Monday, Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams notes the impact of major disasters on the country’s welfare.
The Mayor notes it is important to reduce vulnerability to mitigate the possible destruction from natural disasters. With the climate change crisis in Jamaica, Kingston is among 10 cities selected to be part of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives Project, to provide insurance protection for the population
