Integrity Commission: No Criminal Charges for Holness

No charges will be brought against the Prime Minister or other public officers referred to the Director of Corruption Prosecution. That’s according to a recent ruling published by the Integrity Commission following allegations of conflict of interest in the awarding of millions of dollars in contracts by various agencies to Westcon Construction whose director is a personal and business associate of the Prime Minister.

‘The Special Report of Investigation conducted into circumstances surrounding the Award of Government of Jamaica Contracts to Weston Construction Limited during the period 2006 to 2009. The Integrity Commission in a letter addressed to the House Speaker Mrs. Dalrymple Philibert and the President of the Senate, Senator Tavares-Finson concluded the matter will be tabled in the House of Parliament.

A special report also accompanied the letter, which included details surrounding the investigation conducted into circumstances surrounding the Award Award of Government of Jamaica Contracts to Weston Construction Limited during the period 2006 to 2009.

The allegations concern the award of contracts to Weston Construction Limited, and the relationship/connection between the directors/shareholders of said entity and the Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Honourable Andrew Holness.
