As the fight against breast cancer continues, the Hospiten Hospital in Montego Bay hosted a free breast check and demonstration session at the Sangster International Airport (MBJ). The session was made available to the general public and centered around spreading awareness on how to detect breast cancer. Breast cancer; is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women.
Earlier this month the entities teamed up to conduct breast checks free of cost at the international airport. A commercial representative for Hospiten, Kimiesha Salabie, says the initiative also received support from medical officials, who provided demonstrations.
Likewise, the Commercial Business Development and Marketing Manager with MBJ Airport Limited, Sharon Hislop-Holt, says the campaign aims to spread awareness and motivate citizens to take the necessary steps to detect breast cancer. Nurse Lavonne Johnson shares, during her demonstration, she notices most persons do not conduct beast checks frequently. She is also championing the call for continuous awareness sessions, reminding us that early detection saves lives.
