Heart/NSTA Trust
There are mixed reactions to a proposal by the Heart/NSTA Trust to lower its pass mark. The Trust proposes a decrease from 70 to between 45 and 50 percent following a staggeringly low certification rate in its programs.
However, during a sitting of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, the members argued that if Jamaica is to attain world-class education standards by 2030, lowering the pass mark may not be the most effective alternative.
