GG, PM and Opposition New Year’s Day Messages

Government officials rang in 2022 with an address to the nation offering words of hope and prosperity.  There was also a look back on the economy among other things.

Governor General Sir Patrick Allen is his new year’s address to the nation, sought to offer words of hope and encouragement to Jamaicans. He notes unity is the only way the nation will be stronger and successful.

He also adds Jamaicans must strive towards the vision 2030 mandate, making the country a safe place to live, work and do business.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Andrew Holness highlights that though Jamaica faced challenges due to curfews, lockdowns and vaccination, progress was made with the economy.

Opposition leader Mark Golding is hoping for the economy to be sustained. He urges the government to prioritize education.
