“FLA should review itself” the call comes after a Chinese couple and business operators were murdered months after being flatly denied a firearm license in 2021.
Dennis Meadows, former Government Senator and former Deputy Chairman of the Firearm Licensing Authority, is demanding action and change from the FLA following numerous concerns. He believes not only is there no clear criteria to be met for a license in this case, but demands action from the National Security Minister and the government to review the laws under which licenses are currently granted.
Meadows insists the FLA is inimical to the firearm industry and should review itself in light of the damning claims against its operations; and that the body is thereby collecting money under false pretense. He also notes if the claim that the government is seeking to restrict license checks out then it would be unwise and says given the current crime epidemic every law-abiding citizen should have a right to a licensed firearm.
