Dr Brown-Burke Tackles MLSS Late Intervention Re: Guards

The Opposition Spokesperson on Labour and Social Security Minister Dr Angela Brown Burke took to task the Minister for delays in meeting with the security guards despite the recent unrest in the sector. Dr Angela Brown Burke accepts that while there has been intervention there’s still a perception that the government is in bed with some security firms. 

No stranger to opposing and taking the government to task on matters deemed critical to labour and social welfare, Dr Angela Brown Burke challenged the Minister to ferret out the reason for the feeling that the government is taking sides in the latest row between guards and their companies. She explains that there is also a need to revisit aspects of the agreement between the larger firms and the government that could send smaller firms to their graves.
