The newly constructed municipal building in Portmore, St. Catherine is near completion. Members of the municipality and the ministry of local government toured the facility and other areas across the municipality. Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Desmond McKenzie along with members of the Portmore Municipal Corporation toured the newly constructed municipal building nearing its completion.
According to Minister McKenzie talks for the construction were prior to 2016. He says funding will be provided for the significant components to complete the infrastructure. The minister notes the new building will serve the citizens of Portmore well. The municipality will also see a new market constructed, for which funding will be provided. Minister McKenzie said more details will be given in the upcoming sectorial debate.
