Speaking out against their employer who they claim treated them poorly and is withholding retroactive pay from them. Workers from the Manpower and Maintenance Services Limited mounted a protest at the Spanish Town Hospital over disagreements concerning the details of the company’s termination of its contract with the hospital.

In a letter addressed to one of the employees it’s explained that the termination will come into effect on July 31 and final payments should be made on that day. However they claim that their monies won’t be paid until September. The employees understand the reason for the termination but say they are in limbo concerning their next job the money is vital in sustaining their needs.

Contract worker, Ann Marie, says she hasn’t been paid for a doctor authorized sick leave she took after contracting Covid-19 while working in the field hospital. The Spanish Town Hospital has inked a contract with a new company. In an effort to secure a comment from the hospital CVM Live was given the directive to contact the maintenance company. Manpower and Maintenance has yet to share what action has been taken to mediate in the matter.
