Chang: No Plans to Merge JCF and JDF

Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says there are no plans to merge the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) with the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF), citing the importance of the police in managing the safety of the country.

Dr. Chang was addressing the Jamaica Police Federation’s 79th Annual Conference virtually last week. Dismissing motions of how resources are allotted to the security forces, he says the police are the primary responsibility of the ministry.

As police officers battle the government for improved compensation, Dr. Chang notes that effort is being put into Capital investment that will see long-term growth in police facilities and equipment upgrades. More details in this report:
