Businesses Hoping For Amended Curfew Hours In Christmas

Hope for amended curfew hours in Christmas: An affected business operator in Portland is anticipating an adjustment to the island wide curfew hours, especially for the Christmas season.

But while this man is also hopeful, he  isn’t expecting a relaxation of the measures.

In  a media briefing on Thursday, The Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said data from the Norman Manley International Airport reveals that Jamaica is expected to see thousands of passengers in November and some 43, 386 in December.

He said with Christmas approaching,  he understands citizens wanting to let down their hair and throw their masks to the wind. However, this could be dangerous he said.

Adding to that was the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jacquiline Bisasor Mckenzie who said, there’s a great possibility that there will be a surge in COVID-19 cases during Christmas, and possibly in January.

She’s urging Jamaicans to take all the precautions to prevent  vulnerable persons from being exposed to the virus, thereby decreasing the number of hospitalizations and risk of death.
