Local government Minister, Desmond McKenzie is reminding Jamaicans that no permits have been issued for parties during the Christmas season.
He says parties held in contravention of the law not only stand to spread coronavirus but avail themselves to preying criminals. He’s urging responsibility heading into the festivities.
In times past, or at least before the COVID-19 pandemic, fetes and dance stood closely to watch night church services and family dinners at Christmas.
The minister says while it will be difficult to keep watch over the entertainment this Christmas, penalties will be applied.
