Women at a recent entertainment event were allegedly the targets of criminal intent, as an ‘item tracking device’, the Apple AirTag was unsuspectingly placed on them by criminals looking to trail them. The device was created to help people find or keep track of personal items that are easily misplaced, however the criminally minded have allegedly been utilizing the technology in a nefarious way. Although the nature of this technology is not new, concerns are being raised locally regarding the potential security threat.
