Efforts are increasing among the Portland police to halt the infamous gun for drug trade in the parish. The latest return on those efforts is a 15 million dollar cocaine bust in Norwich, which has resulted in one woman being taken into custody. Reports are that, a team of security officers raided specific areas in the district on April 30, in search of illegal firearms and drugs. CVM Live understands a premise was searched and 2 kilograms of cocaine seized.
Superintendent in charge of the Portland division, Kenneth Chin says a woman was taken into custody. Chin says Portland has an active gun for drug trade, but promises the police are dedicated to putting an end to the long-existing trade.
This is the newest of a number of drug seizures in the country in recent times.
