The Return Of The NIDS

Struck down in the Supreme Court as being unconstitutional in April 2019 the national identification and registration act (The NIRA). The Supreme Court ruled that the NIDS was unconstitutional and the law was declared null and void.

The NIRA formed a major part of the legislative agenda championed by the Andrew Holness led administration. Its rejection was not anticipated to be the end of the road for the law, and the government is now seeking to reintroduce a revised version by April 2020.

We ask what will likely be included in the new bill and what is likely to be left out, and what is the value of the NIDS to the recovery of the Jamaican economy

Good evening gentlemen, thank you for joining us. ),i=o)
