Java Is Celebrating His Latest Single ‘Blessings’

Dancehall artiste Java is celebrating the success of his latest single, ‘Blessings’, an ode to gratitude and surviving tribulations in perilous times.

“The response in the streets has been massive; the song is playing at every street dance in the Corporate Area and in rural Jamaica. I have to give thanks to the fans who can relate to the message and have given their support towards the song. The views and streams ah climb, it’s a great look,” Java said.

The single, produced by New Wavez Entertainment and Air Recordz, was released in January 2021.  The song was mixed and mastered by Bronco Don and Iesh. The visuals were directed by Bronco and Cheeselyf and shot by Mass Effect Media. The video has racked up 22,000 views since its release. Dancehall tracks geared towards being thankful for loved ones, an improved quality of life, making it through a tough trial or tribulation or simply being grateful for being alive often do well in the local marketplace.

Recently, Java hit the Trending lists with ‘Me Alone’ featuring Chronic Law that racked up 945,000 views since its release in December last year. The single was also produced by Bronco of New Wavez Entertainment.

Signed to the New Wavez Entertainment label, Java, whose real name is Sherwayne Stewart, has  emerged as a up and coming dancehall star in his own right, having gained a big underground following with the trigger-pulling ‘Badness’ in late 2020 which was produced by The 6ixreal Records. The track amassed over 50,000 views on Youtube, and over 15,000 views on Audiomack.

He grew up in the York Hill district which is in the community of Seaforth. He attended the St. Thomas Technical High School before moving on to the Seaforth High School. His stage name, given to him by his friends, is an acronym that means: jovial, adventurous, versatile and ambitious. He recorded his first song, “Turn Up the Radio”, which was produced by Flydiewise Production, in 2014. Other standout songs include ‘Zelle Transaction’ and ‘Better Days’.

He has performed at several community stage shows, including Popcaan’s annual Back to School give away concert where he has gained a reputation for his powerful onstage presence.
