Recession Fears

Amidst trading tensions between the US, China and sanctions on Iranian crude oil there are growing fears that the global economy could be heading towards a recession. Leader of the opposition Dr. Peter Phillips is warning Jamaica to closely watch the effects of the developments in the world economy as fears mount over a potential global recession.

Dr. Phillips expressed disappointment at the reaction from the Jamaican government in the face of a previous recession, following which Jamaica turned to the IMF for assistance.
